Veterans Home Care, helping you remain independent
The Veterans’ Home Care (VHC) Program is dedicated to supporting DVA clients with in-home care and assistance, designed to help eligible veterans maintain their independence and continue living comfortably in their own homes. Through a range of services, the VHC Program addresses everyday needs, promoting well-being and a better quality of life. Whether it’s practical assistance with household tasks, personal care, or other support, the VHC Program ensures that veterans receive the care and respect they deserve.
Respite Care
There are different types of respite care:
- In-home respite allows a carer to have a break while another carer comes into the home to take over the caring role.
- Residential respite provides short-term care, usually in an Australian Government-subsidised aged care facility.
- Emergency short-term home relief (ESTHR) provides short-term care in the home when the carer is suddenly unable to provide care.
